About this activity

Immerce yourself into Japanese culture of rice!
This half-day tour offers you to try your hand at both mochi pouding activity and rice straw craft experience with local english-speaking guide.

Japanese people love rice, they grow alot of it and they have done for a long time.
With all that rice agriculture comes a whole lot of straw.
Rice straw was extremely abundunt material back in days and people made variety of things with it. 
You'll make your own sacred shimenawa rope which is a religious items of the Shinto.

After you have done the activity, you'll try mochi pounding experience toghether with local people.

The shrine locates in Miyama's thatched village.
It'll take about 10-min walk from the parking lot.
The activity will be taken place one of the inside rooms at the shrine.
