Spring Viewing Event of Paeonia Obovata
Paeonia obovata inhabits only in very limited mountain areas.
Its fluffy red and white flowers bloom in May for very short time period. The life of each flower is only 3 to 4 days. The number of paeonia obovata is decreasing and it is designated as the rare endangered creatures by Kyoto Prefecture. The flowers will be on public for limited period in May every year.
You may also enjoy tempura of mountain vegetables, riceballs, local vegetables in food stalls by locals. The area is 5 minutes from the Thatched Village by car.
