STAY

NIPPONIA Miyama Tsurugaoka Mountain Village MATSUAKARI

Experience the ultimate rural life

“NIPPONIA Miyama Tsurugaoka Mountain Village”
This property breathes new life into old traditional Japanese houses that had become vacant in the Tsurugaoka area, creating a comfortable space that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new.

Tsurugaoka in Miyama Town, known as an isolated and remote area, embodies the ultimate rural landscape. By staying at “NIPPONIA,” we hope that visitors and locals alike will experience a sense of returning to their hometown, discover the richness of life here, and share in this feeling together. Our goal is to provide a place where such meaningful encounters can occur.

The “MATSUAKARI” house takes its name from the summer fire festival "Agematsu," a traditional event rooted in the Atago faith. The festival, held on the riverside directly in front of MATSUAKARI, has been cherished and preserved for generations. Why not stay at MATSUAKARI and immerse yourself in the local way of life and culture deeply rooted in this region?

A dog-friendly private rental accommodation

"MATSUAKARI" is a whole house rental accommodation with a stunning view of Tsurugaoka from its large windows. This dog-friendly accommodation is a traditional house over 130 years old, featuring a spacious private dog run. You can relax with your dog in the living room, and there is also a space in the attic where you can enjoy the view while reflecting. From the bathroom, you can even gaze at the starry sky.
Surrounded by nature, take a walk around the property, play in the river, and enjoy the feeling of being a part of this village, whether you are with your family or your dog.
